This movie is okay on its own. However, as a long time fan of the series, it does not add up. There has already been an origin story created and this does match in the slightest. The songs were cringy and not good. Most of them sounded the same. The side characters had 0 character development and were boring to watch. And even ladybug/Marinette and Catnoir/Adrien missed a lot of plot point. Tiki got a slight into but it didn’t feel like the tiki we know and love. And Plagg got a minute of fart jokes for his intro. It’s really not fair and destroys their characters. Also, I hate how they resolved the love story. In the series, it is 4 seasons of a love square that truly feels real (or as real as possible anyway). In this, they just reveal their identities and all is solved. It is well known that they can’t know each others identies because of Hawkmoth/shadow moth/whatever his name is now. Speaking of which. Hawkmoth did not deserve the redemption. It is known that Emily used the peacock miraculous which killed her (like what happens to Natalie) and he is trying to bring her back with the miraculous. In this he only uses the miraculous after she dies. Which is false. If you have ever watched the series, I do not recommend this movie. All it will do is make you want to scream because it’s cringy and wrong. And the rules of miraculous are defied in this. Just don’t watch it. And I am pretty optimistic most of the time. This just bothers me.
