Sophie is supposed to be between 12-16 years old, it is very problematic to let an adult (actually, a very old man, who knew how long he lived) to kiss her.
At least from what was depicted in the beginning of the movie, Sophie was a decently kind girl, although she has her vanities. She did protect her friend with courage at the very beginning, clearly she was not THAT evil but she ended up in the school of evil.
***Spoiler alert***
It turns out that the school master was disguised by someone else, who wanted to marry her (someone underage!!) and tries to achieve this goal by putting her in the school of evil. This feels so wrong, it is almost disgusting. Repulsive, I will be honest. That dude, if he just wanted an evil kiss to grant him power, he could certainly have kissed someone more appropriate (there was an adult who clearly loved him in the movie). From what was presented in the movie, it convinces me that he kidnapped a teenager to woo her and marry her. I know that he is evil, but oh dear it is so unnecessary to present such scenes in this movie, it's for younger audiences I believe.
I am giving this a two star because Agatha presented some message I would say worth considering, especially for young kids, that good and evil are not so distinct, humans make mistakes. It was a cringy but fun watch at first, except for what happened in the end.
