I only have one thing to say about this movie….it’s an absolute masterpiece. I have never seen a film this riveting. I laughed, cried, and felt every emotion on the spectrum while watching this impressive film. The 30 minute long intro gave me every detail about Rod’s life including his relationship status, job opportunities, and his purchase of a brand-spankin new solar panel. After a few sex scenes and an hour long pan of the wall at the Vietnamese restaurant, the birds came. When I say that I have never been more terrified, I am not exaggerating. The eagles’ piercing screams, violently flapping wings, and tendency to explode shook me to my core. I will never look at birds the same way after witnessing this film. They were relentless, and continued dive-bombing Rod and his crew until they pulled out the 15 guns and coat hangers. After kidnapping two children and having their friend killed while on the pot, Rod and his lover venture into the woods for my favorite scene of the movie. In these woods we meet the lovable, long-haired hippie who lives in the forest. After speaking about his Lorax-like devotion to the trees, the hippie hears a mountain lion in the middle of his wooded oasis, and bolts. I have never been so moved by a character in a film, and hope that he makes an appearance in future Birdemic films. Overall, this movie changed me. I now feel confident enough to survive the bird apocalypse, and the acid spitting eagles that come with it. Thank you to the makers of this film for touching my heart. I am forever a changed woman.
