Took 2 girls, 2 teens & 2dear friends to West Side Story today. Directed by Stephen Spielberg. What an incredible re-imagining of perhaps the greatest musical ever. (And that’s according to him.) He made this movie out of love and admiration for all those who originally created this compelling work of art; a dancing musical statement of love and the human condition. Bernstein (pitter- patter my ❤️) Sondheim. (Late Broadway genius.) Tony Robbins and now Tony Kushner. (Pulitzer Prize winner). I was crying from the opening 6 note whistle, till I literally lost it at the end, cuddling with The Littles while The Teens nervously giggled, not shedding a tear. But they were moved. I write this, not as a promotion, but with deep appreciation for the depth of emotion West Side Story inspires us to express. Just as did, and does, its inspiration, Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet. 💔

One of the best movies of the year. The costuming is a character in itself. Acting is superb. Cinematography as well. I like how Disney pits a twist on the “bad” characters, showing the other side of them; their motivation. Both Emma’s are outstanding. And, yes, love the dogs.

Lovely, touching period piece. Beautiful music and scenery. Terrific acting of course. Nice to see something simple and meaningful. Not violent

Leslie Mann is priceless. Beyond hilarious. I don’t think anyone alive could play this part as well as her. The scene when she meets Cameron Diaz is a comic masterpiece. I’ve watched that scene several times.
