Honestly I’m glad I ignored the bad reviews and saw this, it was a great time. The main complaint people have is that the dialogue is cheesy and it’s a little tropey, which it can be, but in a way that adds to the fun for me. I still haven’t heard anyone say they could predict the ending, either. They were also creative enough with the concept that it wasn’t just Tarot = bad.
There was one death scene that was particularly dragged out and brutal and didn’t fit the rest of the film, but it also seems to be some people’s favorite scene. I didn’t like it but it seems to add more than it takes away for others.
The monsters looked great, the suspense was well done, and at 90 minutes it didn’t overstay its welcome. It’s definitely worth a shot to check out despite the bad reviews.
