Most meals are frozen, working kitchens have been closed for lots of different reasons including lack of volunteers ... mothers working, seniors retiring later, retirees taking regular care of grandchildren. Lite and Easy provide some meals across the board to MOW now. In reality Supermarket frozen meals could provide more variety, with better pricing without subsidy. My mother's fridge ended up filled with uneaten frozen food because of lack of long term menu variety and boredom. She would pay for the food but not heat & eat it. The scenario of the happy working kitchen delivering a warm roast may be a rural reality but has long died in the metropolitan area.
