I was really excited for this album. The idea of a double album that highlighted what Sum41 did right as a band, how could that not be the greatest send off ever! Bouncing back between poppy punk songs to heavier melodic was an attribute that made Sum41unique. However, after listening to it three times through, it really just felt, meh. The writing in this album is below par and the music itself felt lacking. For a final album I expected it to be more heartfelt and emotional, lyrically speaking. I had hoped that the guitars would be bigger and with bolder rifts. The drum beats to a lot of the songs are too similar. If you’re looking for satisfaction in a farewell album, search elsewhere. P.S. I have never wanted to do a YouTube review of an album before now… I guess that might be one thing this album does right.
