When I first watched Good Girls I thought it was fairly original and funny but after season 2 it started to get rocky.
I'm not a fan of a Christina Hendricks I must admit but Retta and Mae Whitman are really fantastic and have some of the more genuine relatable storylines.
*Spoiler* I think the romance between Beth and Rio became too much of a focus instead of the crime. I found most Beth's storylines rather annoying pretty much every scene with Dean was like watching walruses scream at other .
She wasn't very good at being a criminal really. All her ideas/scams blow up in her face, she's a liar, continously whinges about both sides of the soccer mom, criminal coin but takes the high ground when shes had enough of which ever role she's playing.
I think they wasted Rio, (Manny Montana) because in reality, I don't think he would be interested in having Beth as cleaner never mind a partner in crime. Especially after she shot him. Which if they wanted to continue the Brio thing, she probably should have shot the copper to save Rio in some way because I'm pretty sure gangsters don't appreciate being shot by their annoying booty calls. Side note, Manny Montana is extremely easy on the eyes 😉
Anyhoo, I wish Rio had just gone scarface on Beth which would have been more believable. Rio was a good baddy and a more focused storyline on his actual network and the ladies becoming more involved I think would have given the program more continuity, rather than some of the other temporary insignificant characters that pop up. The hitman for example.
It is worth a watch, it's just a shame they focused on the wrong things in the later series. Just my opinion :)
