As someone who loves details and vivid descriptions, I loved this book. In fact, it is one of my favorites. To some, all these "pointless" details and descriptions may shift the focus away from the plot, but for me, it helped to create a strong feel of Istanbul and while reading, it seemed as if I was observing the city, not imagining it. The plot and story overall are marvelous. Definitely recommend. And the twist is so unexpected, and described in such a way, it really left me shook. One thing I would say though, is that concentration is needed for this book. It is not something you can stop reading and after a few months pick it up and continue. There is a lot going on and it is quite complicated. But keep in mind, this is coming from someone in Year 11, so for someone older, it may not be that complicated.
