One of the best bad movies I've ever seen. It's loaded with symbolism, psychology, sex, violence, and as any good sci-fi - it's a warped mirror of our own modern world. That said, it's a terribly bad movie! Special effects are cheap, the acting is just absolute ham, editing forgot to cut out a good 45 minutes of the movie, cinematography was hit and miss on brilliance (get that nipple in the shot - yea), directing, writing, costumes, and set design all were unabashedly 70's. I'd imagine, when Sean Connery is on his death bed, he'll think to himself "Wow, Zardoz was a fun movie to make. Really glad I did that one." Cause if I were in his shoes, I would have said yes to that screenplay in less than a heartbeat. The only reason I'm giving it one less star than it deserves is because it's such a turd of a movie. Go watch it with friends and loved ones!

Please shake the camera more. I love shot-reverse-shots with as much camera shake as possible. Just wag the thang. Not like a little vibration. I want my movies to feel like documentaries shot by a wall-eyed drunk with the shakes wearing roller-skates. Gimme gimme gimme gimme that camera shake. I want to feel so nauseous and annoyed that I can't even pay attention to the plot or the derpalogue. I won't be satisfied until actors are cracking up at the absurdity of the cameratographer bumbling about the set, bumping into things, knocking over props with sweeping camera wobbles.

As a long time fan of the books, this movie does fantastic justice to the source material in all areas. Great adaptation! Looking forward to the continuation of the story. I'll probably reread the series too, after watching this. It's been a good long while. Thanks to all involved. LOVED the sense of scale. The art direction is top notch. Keep up that quality work. when the series is done, I'd love to buy a box set with the-making-of, à la Lord of the Rings.

I've got a mixed relationship with the IP. Loved Witcher 2, but never finished Witcher3 because it distracted from its own story too much. Read the 1st two compilations of short stories and really enjoyed them, but put down Blood of Elves for a better series - still plan to go back to it though. On my 4th attempt to watch the 1st season, I didn't care for a lot of their additions and changes - parts were good. The CG was just bad or meh. I felt like the cinematography vacillated in quality too much. Some scenes are cinematic, others are soap-opera, some shots and cuts made me rage-quit the series (multiple times - sloppy camera work). The story manages to shine through the confusingly awkward editing (which is better handled in the books - because books are books). Some of the casting was fantastic, others . . . not at all what I imagined when I read the books. It's like they went out of their way to make odd casting choices - but some of those actors still played their part to the bone. And of course, it's all got that Netflix ick to it, which I'm not fond of. While most people are in love with it, I'm just not feeling it. Edit: The last 2 or 3 episodes of season 1 we're the best. They finally started to pull their act together. Now season 2, they improved on EVERYTHING I disliked about the 1st season. Solid work. Really enjoyed it. Thank you. Looking forward to the continuation!
