Great show, at least for these 3 episodes so far. I was initially worried that it'd be a diluted, happy-go-lucky letdown considering its overhaul for being too dark. Nevertheless, its firm approach to exploring one of the franchise's tragic and most desperate time periods was pleasantly reassuring, of which leads me to my favourite highlight of the show.
The story is pretty spot on (spoilers ahead). Never did I feel the story was too predictable, and instead always kept me on my feet over what shocking twist would happen next, i.e: the kidnapping of Princess Leia (I thought it'd just be Obi-Wan saving Luke) or the Third Sister's betrayal of the Grand Inquisitor. The show's M rating also greatly contributed to the show's aura of perpetual suspense as Star Wars has seldom left the PG-13 barrier, and as such made both the stakes and antagonists appear unique and immensely more threatening.
Nevertheless, the only issue I had with the show was the execution of thus aformentioned story. Some scenes felt very off and weirdly paced in particular with the shots, as well as editing. This is most apparent in Darth Vader's chase scene in the 3rd episode. The episode hypes you up for this climactic and long-awaited confrontation of epic proportions with Darth Vader and Obi-Wan, who have never seen each other for a decade, however it boils down to a dilly-dallying game of hide-and-seek in the desert with awkward ambience set to the max. It came to its senses and delivered a worthwhile conclusion in the end, however the occasional off moment often took me out of the immersion.
Overall, Obi-Wan's a very enjoyable but admittedly clumsy show. It might be because of my rose-tinted glasses as a Star Wars fan, however, I'll hold my review at 4.5 stars as I thought it was an awesome show, just dampened with a few scenes that could've been done better.
EDIT: Added 3rd episode
