Seasons 1 and 2 were terrific. I like the way the story was told in the present, with flashbacks completing various parts of the story. The only thing missing in these seasons is a little more romance between Alex and Ryan, and more details of their happy ending in the last episode of season 2 (possibly marriage). Season 3 ruined this series, with putting the wrong characters together. This season gave little to fans, yet took away the most important appeal to viewers, which was the relationship between Alex and Ryan. The twist basically sabotaged the entire series. I would have preferred to not have watched season 3 at all, rather than deal with the disappointment that it brought. There was no reason to loose ratings, as season 3 could have put focus on the popular couple and focused on a great storyline displaying the strength in their relationship (Alex and Ryan). This is what the fans wanted.
