Brilliant! A very emotional and evocative poem. So well rendered by the iconic Michael Caine. At 51 y.o I am in between jobs. My family has been my only great sheet anchor and I owe my life to them. I have had every opportunity to think negative, about life, about its terminality, about death and whatnot.
Yes, death is certain and my question is, so why rage against it?
My take away from Sir Michael is to have a burn in the belly, to rage against not just death, but against uncertainty. In the context of the storyline of Interstellar, the rage is also against the human species which has failed Mother Earth, Left her depleted, degraded, destroyed beyond repair. This is what we call in the Hindu lexicon as Pralaya or annihilation. Hence the rage makes eminent sense to me.
