It's everything I could ever have asked for out of a Mario movie. While I definitely have bias as a fan of the franchise, it's tone perfectly matches that of the games, and it's simple plot and characters provide an easy gateway for anyone of all ages into the world of Super Mario. All the actors did great (especially Jack Black), and the animation is beyond stellar. Also, multiple references are included making the movie as great for the kids as much as for long time fans without feeling forced towards general audiences. It's A Blast!

It was awesome. Like, theres nothing else I can really say. If you like bad movies, you'll like this one. It's their own unique take on a Mario Bros movie.
Anyway, talking real here, pretend it's not a mario movie and you'll be alright. Otherwise, idk if the 2022 one will be better or worse but for now I jokingly really like this movie
