currently reading and at 50 pages in, I'm getting alot of deja vu! So without giving to much away so far the saltans son, the Prince seeks out into the market (hmmm hints of Aladin), main characters other name is lyra, who has a jinn, and a magic compass which can show her what she wants( northan lights book comes to mind), her "hord of the day" was a magic mirror which can show you people you love ( cross between beauty and the beasts mirror and the mirror of erised from harry potter) and she has a orb cushioned between 2 wings ( Harry potter golden snitch)..... sigh, I really want to keep reading but it just feels like alot of ideas have been taken from different books/films and its just been mixed together and I can't get into the story as I keep seeing things from different stories/plots. please tell me I'm not the only one seeing this?
