It is definitely a B grade TV series. In comparison to the book, it does get the major story line across which is good to see but some aspects are exaggerated for the "Hollywood drama" effect. The acting is "over" dramatic, too dramatic where the realism is taken out and becomes more like a slap stick show than a SCI-FI series. The emotional acting of the main actress and some of the leading characters are so overly up and down that it deters from the main message the scene is meant to be perceived as. Realistically when someone can go from hysterically crying to normal then back again, this is considered "emotionally unstable". I understand that Clary is going through a lot of drama in her life and she is meant to seem quite a fragile yet morally "strong" individual. However, the acting is so B grade that it makes the series sometimes really unbearable to watch because it is so bad. I still like the storyline but it's the acting and the fight scenes that ruined it for me. Gosh, the series was so frustrating to watch. I would still recommend that people go watch it but treat it like a porn movie but for the reverse reason where instead of going to see it for the action you go to see it for the storyline. Please make the acting and fight scenes a bit more realistic, it is not the Bold and the Beautiful and it ruins the book.
