Underpowered period piece that labors under the weight of a kind of witless pretentiousness. Some actors are apparently sedated while others try and fail to chew scenery. Cynthia Nixon is very good but Christine Baranski seems like she is suffering. Overall it's just plain flat.

Kennedy bashing is a cottage industry. Their bodies were killed and their reputations have been attacked ever since. The Palm Beach crowd is a snake pit of envy, gossip and betrayal. Compared to the profligate profile of public personalities that soils our world today, the Kennedys of the 1960s were exemplar and real American patriots.
