After The Dry followed the book well I was looking forward to seeing Force of Nature but I was disappointed. Jill and Daniel go from brother and sister to husband and wife not that big a deal but other changes I couldn’t fathom. The whole story of Falk and his family is not in the book, in fact his mother died when he was young and his father who he wasn’t close to used to hike in the bush. In the book Falk and his partner who get on well unlike the movie get clues from poring over his dads maps of the area. The movie also fails to show the backstory between some of the women and shows little of the tension building as they wander lost in the bush choosing instead to show the fake story of Falk and family. The end seemed rushed and unsatisfactory as at no time does the movie take you into the mindset of the characters and you don’t get to know them at all.
