It was great acting, beautiful scenery but very hard to make sense of who was who and what was actually happening and why.

Hauntingly beautiful in it's stark reality, the overwhelming Baptist Devil Fearing doctrine shoved down the congregations throats, the hopelessness of the alcoholic lives and the pain of the child being abused with no way out. The music and scenery are sublime.

Not good to watch a confusing movie and still not 'get it' at the end. This movie has a tremendous cast and AWESOME location but I'm some glad I just rented it and didn't pay big bucks to see it at a theater.
