I just watched Elvis tonight and I was very impressed at Austin’s performance. Someone said he didn’t look like Elvis. Who would? He was close enough for me (who grew up in the 60’s and 70’s.) He didn’t overplay it but was very convincing, very believable. A very good actor. The production and acting all around was very good.
Kudos to Baz the director. It wasn’t your usual bio-pic, he made it much more interesting.
I had heard during my life that the Colonel was not an honest and kind man but I had no idea. Seeing this movie gave me new insights on how a superstar could get caught up in a never ending web of deceit and lies just because of someone’s greed.
I was so emotional at the end I couldn’t even cry. I felt so so sorry for him, my heart went out to him and his family and friends.
Highly recommended. (And I was/am a huge Beatle fan over Elvis.) But I came away with a bigger understanding of him and his life and a renewed love for his music. I truly hope there is a Rock and Roll Heaven 🎼
