I am really happy that Del Toro made this film. There were rumors for years that he had intended to make an adaptation of the Haunted Mansion in conjunction with Disney. However, things fell through. I believe that if the Haunted Mansion film would have materialized, even with the same cast of Crimson peak, the film may have felt more whole. Atast, we have Crimson Peak, which is a mere haunt of it's original concept. The film's set up and performances were great. I really wish the script was more fleshed out with more detail and content in order to give justice to the great actors that graced upon us in the film. Overall, it is a good supernatural period peace that goes with the likes of the Winchester movie.
