READ THIS BEFORE PURCHASING THIS GAME!
Adventure Time: ETDBIDK received lots of criticism from gaming outlets at the time of release. When I first bought it in 2014, I was pretty disappointed too, seeing as I'm a fan of the show. I was expecting to collect quick cash, save it and upgrade all the character's stats quickly. That's not how the game wants you to play. On your first playthrough, your main priority is to get as far down the dungeon as possible until you reach and defeat the boss on level 100. That's when the "story" ends. Along the way, the dungeons hold more and more gold per level. The high upgrade prices end up being more affordable as you progress through the game. Every 10 levels, you return to the surface after you defeat a boss. Once you beat that boss, you can keep fighting and treasure hunting to your heart's content. That gameplay loop is highly addictive and satisfying, but time consuming. If you like dungeon crawlers with a beautiful artstyke. or just want to slash up some skeletons, you cannot go wrong with this title unless you hate grinding or don't preticularly care for the show.
