It's pretty sad when your favourite character in a show is a *robot*. Nice effects 'n all, but honestly, the plot and story are entirely unbelievable. Like when the Robinson matriarch - supposedly a world-class scientist - decides to use a hot air balloon to go into the stratosphere of an alien planet with no backup and having told no one she was doing that. Or how a whole family gets to go to another planet cuz they "passed the tests". Or how the rest of the world isn't revolting against the clearly 1%-populated group who get to escape a clearly dying Earth. Or how the strong/smart/beautiful matriarch caused almost all the families woes as a result of a deeply immoral act. And the penny-ante politics and soap-opera-level melodrama make you wonder how humanity survived long enough to get to whatever planet they're on. And they measure distance in miles. Miles?!?! What kind of backwards pageantry is that?! The future is metric! They also mistakenly attributed the Challenger shuttle disaster to faulty O-rings, when in fact it was just politics that killed those astronauts. I have to admit Parker Posey did an AMAZING job in bringing life to the Dr. Smith character. Unfortunately, her character is so utterly malignant that I cannot understand how she continues to survive. Smith is so absolutely revolting, so completely inhuman, that the character's death cannot come soon enough. And I cannot believe they have no real identification biometrics in the future given the significance of the reason for humanity's exodus from Earth. The show is not a complete waste, and it's a nice way to while away a quiet afternoon, but it's soooo poorly thought out that it's ultimately a disappointment.

SPOILERS!!! A cop tries to find a murderer, only to find that it's his grand-daughter, travelling backwards through time, trying to prevent a future civil war by killing people in the past (our present) who would propagate the *ideas* that would ultimately kick the war off. Though the movie kept me entertained — until the last 30 minutes or so — it was ultimately very disappointing. It's an impoverished, childish version of the completely awesome [Travelers](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Travelers_(TV_series)). That the whole movie should be reduced to a single bullet point: that some ideas don't deserve to exist — is puerile and superficial. It does no justice to any of the complex arguments both for and against free speech (however you define it), and it leaves the audience with intellectual blue balls. Some people have labelled this movie as being about "social justice", but it isn't really. If it was, they would have focused on that, and not on the murder and mayhem, nor would the lead have been a white male cop. This is 115 minutes you won't get back, ever.
