I watched the movie with Elijah
(6-year-old Nigerian Canadian-born), and as soon as he dropped his backpack (after school). I excitedly pointed out a show on the TV to him surprisingly. Elijah's face lit up with joy as he exclaimed, "Hey, a black cartoon mummy! They're speaking like me!" His happiness was so palpable as he started imitating the characters and their languages (pidgin). Experiencing his sheer delight made me realize the impact of having someone like you in a room.
I urge you to watch "IWAJU" and support the producer of this award-winning movie that sheds light on the realities of the streets. It's truly a remarkable film that deserves recognition and encouragement.
