Let me begin by saying that this movie deserves so much more love and appreciation than it has received, so far. Not giving away any spoilers but this movie ain’t your typical action-flick in the likes of a Marvel / DC movie. I love how the storyline is established in the first few minutes itself which you only realise once you’ve finished watching the movie. The chemistry between Phoenix and Gaga is enigmatic and so seamless that it kinda makes you want to see how the story ends. However, the twist here is that we’re in Arthur’s world who’s also trying to make sense of the Joker in him. It’s a masterpiece of a movie for it focuses on the deepest, darkest and inexplicable aspects of a person’s mental health or state of mind. The musical sequences in the movie are executed with such emotion that I found a tear rolling down the corner of my eye. Easily, this film is way too mature for its audience. But that doesn’t make it any less worthy.
