Kaufman has taken control of time itself in the narrative to tell an epic and complete tale. It isn't one thing but everything. Those are honestly the movies that stand the test of time. In part a testament of a relationship in today's individualistic and doomed relationships, in part an essay on mental health and how it affects those around us.
The manner in which the highway becomes a key structure of the narrative is genius (not genus). At times you despise the highway and at times you are comforted when they are on it.
There is an array of unique ways in which the story has been driven home. The cinematography has amazingly blended with the narrative, which is a serious challenge, given the pace at which the movie surfs over time.
