The characters are really forced into their roles. Not sure how to describe their acting, but they come forward as annoying type disney cast, with this really sarcastic and over exerted emotions. I feel they could have recruited a more aged/seasoned cast. Never has a pilot show, had me grip the remote to either continue or split from watching a show. As with modernization and progressives wanting to see diverse characters. Producers really emphasized the whole feminist and gay pride in this show. In the 90s none of these were topics. The portrayed scripts on political views in this show, were rarely ever a thought in the 90s. To much emphasis and bland personalities in the characters.
