Several years ago, I was fortunate enough to be able to visit Israel with my husband and members of our church. I had grown up in a neighborhood that were basically new home buyers....and most of the neighbors were Christians. ....however our next door neighbors were Jewish. Esther and Andy were always very close to my heart. At one time, Esther promised my mother that if anything ever happened to them (my mom or dad), that they, Esther and Andy would pay for my college education. I was humbled by their generosity to be willing to provide for a college education, the children who were not relatives nor of the same faith as they were.
Every time I watch THE CHOSEN, I feel like I am living with this community of CHOSEN people of God, who are faithful to their God and to their friends as well, willing to make and keep promises made to their to neighbors and friends. Although this promise never needed to be fulfilled, I will always feel loved and part of their family.
When I watch CHOSEN, in a way, these people representing the Jewish nation are also my family. These people are the CHOSEN people of GOD......and God loves His Chosen People! They lived through adversity. HE led out of an oppressed country. He provided manna to eat and water from a rock.....and they believed.... they continued to be faithful to GOD and followed His Commandments..
When I was in third grade, I received my first Bible.
The Bible verse I was given when I was confirmed and accepted Jesus Christ as my LORD and Savior, was Isaiah 43:1....
"Fear not, for I have redeemed you: I have called you by name; you are mine."
When I was invited to go on my Emmaeus Walk, Isaiah 43:1 was the verse that was given to me in the book I received.
Isaiah 43:1 was given to me on a necklace from my BSF* Teaching Leader and its words guided me as I was also blessed to be a BSF* children's leader. (*Bible Study Fellowship)
Isaiah 43:1 has given me much wisdom, strength and courage as I have walked through life.
In like manner, Psalm 23 also guides and directs my steps.
I was blessed to hear about The Chosen and to be able to encourage many others to watch its episodes when I was privileged to have God's Word presented to me through these online videos.
I have donated money as I have had the opportunity.....
Today I went to donate money, and was interrupted...when I came back, the window of donation closed and I could no longer access it. Needless to say, I was disappointed.......perhaps at another time, I will be be able to have this opportunity again.
