The homages to key comic moments are incredible. The jokes are fast and the two protagonists are clearly enjoying themselves in the work.
But let’s be honest. The plot is so thin on the ground it might as well be my hairdo at 45 years of age.
There’s a certain charm to the appreciation of franchises that have ceased and the actors that led them, but the whole second act is just “and then they end up here, then somewhere else, then somewhere else.”
Go in for the homage. It won’t shatter your world, but it will at least feel like home.
