Easily the best television series I’ve ever seen. There have been numerous others revolving around a mysterious, mass disappearance of people around the planet, but none match the range or depth of human emotion as The Leftovers. I watched several episodes when the first season aired back in 2014. but due to personal issues, could not bring myself to watch the remainder. The Individual character’s stories, dialog, and musical score were too emotionally as well as viscerally powerful for me to handle at that time. Found the series again in late 2021 and could not help but watch it from beginning to end. Almost every episode packs an emotional wallop unlike anything on television before or since. The cinematography and screen writing is quite simply superb.
