Adaptations should be clearly labelled as such. Great Expectations is a classic tale written by a master storyteller.
This latest TV production disappoints on so many levels.
However, if the director/writer had just labelled it .. a new story based on characters from the original book, then a lot could be forgiven.
As it is, after just managing to survive 1.5 episodes of this wacky and almost satirical production, I have admitted defeat and retired ungracefully.
