Excellent plot with an unexpected ending which stays with you. The only downside is the rather lugubrious and flat musical accompaniment- particularly “una furtiva Lagrima”. Otherwise one of the best films I’ve seen recently with excellent acting and direction.

Extraordinary Gothic story, worthy of Poe himself, filmed in ominous darkness and mesmerising atmosphere. The end was as unexpected as it was moving. Excellent.
