Hue Cry

Everything you could want in a space-exploration game, but much more user-friendly and automated than Star Citizen or other "serious" space games, as this one is more whimsical and fantastical. More "Star Wars" and less "the Expanse." For example, your ship AI handles landing and taking off, so you can focus on just playing the game. My wife and I love playing this together, doing the daily quests in the Anomaly space station, building amazing bases, collecting weird creatures and badass starships. This game has a bit of a learning curve at first, but if you can push through the admittedly terrible tutorial, there is a whole universe to enjoy. The main quest is well written and interesting, you can have your own capital ship mobile base, and so much more. I almost forgot to mention--this game has such a great VR mode that it basically justified buying a VR just to play it that way. Really fun and immersive.
