I'm not sure who the target audience is for "Wolf Like Me" but I loved it. It definitely grows on you from one episode to the next, despite already having a clue to where it's going (the title gives it away, which is fine. The title is what made it stand out to me.)
Some reviewers seem to miss the main point, which is that the daughter is everyone's main concern, not the "baggage" Mary has to reveal. Perhaps they were expecting a horror/bloody story, which this is not. This is a story about two adults with established lives trying to merge them while keeping the troubled daughter's problem at the forefront.
The casting is good, the story is enjoyable, the scenery/settings were excellent, and the performances are spot on.
