Unglamorous and apparently authentic portrayal of decent folk and the destructive effect of sectarianism. Realistic portrayal of family relationships under pressure and of generational love and respect. A moving insight into the effect of bully boy violence on people who had lived happily in communities unaffected by religious bigotry. Beautifully acted and staged. Brilliant casting. Buddy was so natural.
