As a long time One Piece watcher I was very skeptical of this live action adaptation. While not everything was entirely accurate they made sure to include the most important parts of the east blue adventure. Some of the cast seemed a little goofy at first but it's only because it takes time to adjust to seeing a real person in the roll of your favorite anime characters. By the end of the show I just wanted more. While there are still some scenes that had to be adapted differently it still managed to drive home almost every important detail. Every anime watcher knows that there is a balance to importance and "filler" in every anime episode, this show did a good job keeping what was most important even if it meant having to sacrifice some of the more "filler" aspects of the anime. This show has absolutely blown my expectations out of the water. I would love to see them continue with this great adventure brining back vivid memories of the scenes I know and love from the anime. I highly recommend this show even if you are skeptical, and if you haven't watched the anime please watch this show and maybe it will convince you to give the anime a try. Well done to the directors and cast. 10/10 but -1 only because Luffy isn't in his signature sandals XD 9/10
Edit: To anyone that reads angry comments from one piece die hard fans (which I am as well) just know that this 8 hour show represents almost 18 hours worth of anime. Of course things had to be altered and adapted to fit the time constraint, but that doesn't make it a bad show by any means.
