Honestly, the representation for the lgbtq+ community is great, but that’s just it. Everything was great until Luna got captured. The rest was boring and predictable. The moment Lizard broke her facade, I knew that she would help Luna, blah blah blah and the world is safe. It’s the same thing for the rest of the other arcs. Arc 2, Darkstalker was somehow tricked into eating a strawberry? That’s like defeating Thanos by tricking him into using the infinity gauntlet on himself. The human villain was unexpected, and I grew fond of him. His backstory was done well and all, but we don’t even get to see his own death! This felt rushed, and it probably was. I hope this series doesn’t end just yet because the ending for this book didn’t feel real. I know this is a kids book and all, but if you can summarize mass genocide against species, racial segregation, sexism, homophobia, war, war crimes, dictators, poverty, attempted assassinations on political figures, and gruesome deaths for side characters in a kids book, then I don’t see why at least one main character could die. It’s unrealistic and predictable. The ending was basically “everyone is alive after defeating a god-like villain.” Like, every single main character faced death at least once, but no one died. Hell, the only character who did die was cotton guy and Lizard. Overall, I think the is series has to end on a more mature ending. Because we can’t expect everything to work out. No matter what, not every plan is going to succeed. There has to be casualties for the cause. So other than that, the characters and representation was great and the descriptions of the fight scenes were incredible.
