A good movie is one where the acting , directing, storyline, cinematography and all the technical aspects are good. A brilliant movie is one which has all the charactestics of a good movie plus it captivates the audience and wins awards and accolades. An outstanding movie is one which has all the charactestics of good and brilliant movies and has stood the test of time. THIS MOVIE IS OUTSTANDING.. War movies are my favorite genre and I have watched quite a long list of them : From Saving Private Ryan, Letters from Iwo Jima, Patton, Schindlers list, Fury, Apocalypse Now, ToraTora Tora , Stalingrad, Guns of Navarone, Bridge on the river Kwai and many more. This movie tops them all. No hollywood movie ever made so far, can match the authenticity, the intense drama and emotions of war as potrayted by Das Boot.. period
