One of my absolute favorite movies! Such a clever concept, believable and relatable. A story that unfolds, orchestrated so well showing how addiction can damage a person's life but with comedy and such heartwrenching and heartfelt moments. I cried three times. GREAT characters and character arcs that showcase the beauty of true friendship, romance and the parent-child relationship. Makes you believe in happy, loving families, best friends, hope for redemption after terrible mistakes.

Loved it!! I think all the flack is silly. I think it was a perfectly human-nature thing that Jim did. I liked that it was male lead. I'm glad Jennifer did it. I don't know if i believe the woman would have reacted how she did, ie. violently and hating him, though i understand her feelings, i understood his too. It's always better to have two brains working on a problem. She DID fall in love with him but i understand it would feel like betrayal finding out what he did and that he lied. But his choice was was understandable. The main problem i had was the believability of the climax. When he vented the ship, i think he would have died but i guess the futuristic tech of his suit could account for it. Oh! My husband and i agreed -- if they were THAT advanced the ship would have had back up generators or something, we think the ship should have awakened appropriate crew if it had such big opportunities going on. I think it would be able to tell them exactly what and where the problem was. I can't believe they didn't make them have kids!! The end should have showed their kids and grandkids running around --that would have been awesome!! Overall it succeeded incredibly well at making one appreciative of human connection and love. My husband and i felt even closer watching it.
