JThey should rename this series, it is certainly not Outlander! This series has nothing to do with the books! The writers, directors, and producers are so arrogant, they thought they could completely rewrite the books that have been best sellers for 20 odd years. In the process they have destroyed what made the books so successful. The very core of these books is the relationship between Jamie and Claire, the depth of their conversations, their passion, the tender moments. This relationship has been completely ignored in favor of the sets, lack luster action, and the costumes. The “big” house is beyond ridiculous. This elegant house in the back country of The Carolinas is comical at best. Entire episodes have been devoted to minor characters that were no more than random paragraphs scattered through the books, while the Jamie and Claire characters have been rewritten and are so boring and completely unlikeable. Their relationship has been replaced by the Breanna and Rodger drama, which is even more boring. Season one was extremely true to the books and was brilliant. “ Organic” to the books, not so much. Do not recommend this series especially if you are a book fan. Just a showcase for writers, directors, and producers that took themselves a little too serious, sadly they started this series with a huge fan base, and it went to their heads. It was the books not them! The stars have gone on to other projects and are just going through the motions. I sincerely hope there is not another season, each season is worse than the last. Just watched the last episode May 3rd, so freakin bad I wanted to puke. Fast forward is a good thing, 10 minutes is about all I could take. I wonder how Gabaldon feels about this decimation of her books?
