The film is over-stylised and caricatures the turmoil of its protagonist. This is deranged Diana.The pearl in the soup scene is comical. I was half expecting a boiled bunny to make an appearance. Stewart handles it all well, and shows her versatility.

This film serves up the tale of one of sports remarkable stories, if not the most remarkable: the rise of the Williams sisters to tennis greatness. It focusses on the character of their irascible, quixotic and charismatic father, Richard, played by Will Smith, at the top of his game. A sterling support cast hit a few aces of their own.
