As always, as you can expect, visuals and fight scenes were great........no point on commenting negatively on this. However, and before I go on, I must ensure that whoever reads this knows I am a big fan of these kind of movies..............However...........for me this was the least enjoyable Thor I have watched. Although at times I had a wee laugh at the humour, I found myself chuckling more often at the poor attempts at humour out of awkwardness rather than actually chuckling at funny dialogue.
The story alone (as much as I know the Thor movies are meant to be light hearted in a way) left me feeling very underwhelmed, left me wanting more from the Butcher, even though the darkness of the character had me intrigued and excited as to what might have been a brilliant enemy, I was still left feeling throughout that he was a weak foe.
Previous movies combined light hearted humour with at times a serious threat, giving a great balance. For me, this movie felt rushed throughout......trying at every opportunity to make a joke while bypassing a real plot. Without giving away anything, the Zues storyline was the most dissapointing aspect. Felt ridiculous.
As much as this may seem a negative review, I must stress that I did not dislike it, I just expected much more and left the cinema dissapointed......I feel the director change was apparent throughout.
