What the F … Is This??? As others said, I tried to watch for Annie but this is a big swing and a miss for me. The concept is innovative but the accents are horrible and the laugh track is overbearing on the sitcom side. I made it about 15 minutes, then changed it to a Lifetime movie I’ve seen before. I gave 2 stars because Annie is awesome, but she can’t carry this mess. Sorry Annie. 😢

With respect to the real people and loss of life, this movie is not good. The Lifetime version of it is actually way better, surprisingly. I tried to watch this version twice and still couldn’t get through it. Very dark, drab, boring, and hard to follow. 1 star for 2 failed attempts at watching.

I’ve watched all 8 available episodes as of today’s date. I agree with many other reviews that after the first 2-3 eps it loses its edge. I feel like HBO missed an opportunity here. In my opinion, so much more could have been told in detail and been more interesting then in turn create more sympathy from the viewers. The docuseries on A&E called “Cults and Extreme Belief” is better.

I struggled a little getting through the first episode. But, it was well worth it. I loved this series. I hope there are more seasons about this interesting family.
