I do not like this latest rendering of Great Expectations at all. Not only are a number of the characters miscast but the story line of this great novel has been wrecked to make it more contemporary (eeech), for example - the young Pip albeit a fine actor is too old - the young Estella is a drudge with zero pathos; as ugly ducklings go this one will not be turning into a graceful swan - Pip’s sullen sister is evidently an S&M practitioner providing whipping services to Pumblechook (yes really) Have cancelled my series recording as there are hopefully better things to watch than this. A horrible waste of BBC Licence Fee
