Honestly I don’t even know where to being. The story caught my attention after having watched the show Wednesday on a recommendation from people. I think the main actress did a good job. But at some point around two thirds of the way through the film just went off the rails. Like most stories, they start out Interesting and engage the audience. However, also, like most movies and stories, the writer doesn’t know what to do as the story wraps up. By the end I was a little confused as to what even was the point anymore. I thought that they were going to take the tired trope of student having crush on teacher and doing something different with it. Here is the gist of the story. Young girl, writer takes an interest in a teacher she has, who was also a writer himself. She has a sharp mind and quick wit. These things make the teacher, feel like he finally is reaching one of his students. Which is what all teachers want to do and in this day and age is harder and harder. So as to get closer to the student to relate to her better, he shows her a little favoritism and that’s about it. While outside on the field one day, either before or after class, they share a cigarette. At some point they were going over some thing, and somehow she left some with the teacher. He went to go return it, and during that moment she imagined that they kissed. And had it intimate, but it was just a moment. Then the teacher left after handing her the item. Afterwards she had other fantasies or images in her mind, and wanted to talk to the teacher about it, thinking that they actually shared an intimate moment. He Sped her advances and told her you’re just my student. Because he realized that things were going too far. So the feeling rejected turns against the teacher and report him for inappropriate behavior, to which he has to defend himself. He explains the whole situation, which is why he only gets a temporary suspension. Then, by the end The second to last seen, she tells her friend who she had been basically conspiring with the whole time that now all of a sudden she’s going to testify against this teacher, that she formally idolized and fantasized about. This is beyond bad form. then, at the last scene she appears to maybe have second thoughts I don’t know, cause they never explain it, and you just see her sitting on a bench apparently outside of the building, where she is going to testify against the teacher that only wanted to help her and somehow she makes eye contact with him, and he makes eye contact with her and then the screen goes to black…
