This book shines a light on our American mythologies of acquisitions of property, ownership and governance. Once engaged, it is difficult to put down, and between readings, it will reappear in so many of the practices we take for granted in our daily lives. It is illuminating, a magnificently researched book and should be part of foundational social/political studies in education.
It reflects, page by page, many of the issues we continue to deal with in society and government today.
