The lead actor, Richard Dutcher (Wes), is not very plausible as a Bishop in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, the correct name of the church. He does not come across as compassionate or even friendly. As the writer of the story, he is even less convincing. Wilford Brimley plays Stuart Udall as the rascally old reprobate deputy to the sheriff. He portrays a harmless, affable, old guy that perks up the movie. I wonder what Will is like offset? The movie raises too many questions and is certainly not very settling. I believe that Dutcher was trying to send a spiritual message at the close, but he is too internally conflicted to convey an untarnished moral ending. An interesting watch, but don't save it for Monday night Family Home Evening. The kids will not understand it.
