I read the book when i was 10 honestly and watched the movie a little bit later I'm 13 now and honestly during blm protest during Covid it changed my perspective of how people viewed me. I had just moved to a mainly white school with no black teachers and only 5 other black kids and i didn't really realize the racist stuff they said. The Hate U Give as been inspirational.
