What a delightfully engaging children's book. It's actually appropriate for all age groups as it elicits fun-filled childhood memories. Most importantly, it honors every brown child who has ever wanted or who has had a doll they could truly call their own, one who looks just like them. The exploration and encounters throughout the story are both enriching and imaginative while the vibrant colors and hairstyles are culturally unique. Bravo to both the author and illustrator!
