First off, this book is not sold or given to children. This book was made for ADULTS, and Highschoolers. Never once has this book been given to Children or to a Elementary School. Stop comparing 5 year Olds, all the way up to 17 year Olds. Boomers need to shut up about there political religous agenda.
This book is a historical fictional book about the Author himself.
This is a slice of life book about living in a low income town, a boy questioning his faith, and questioning if his morals are bad due to his faith or if its due to his ethics.
He falls in love with a girl the same age at 16yrs old and lies to his mom to visit her. He realizes he's not mature enough to have the feelings about her through out the book. They slowly fallout of love as he repairs his faith and accepts that he will never be perfect in the eyes of his faith.
By the end of the book, it resignates with alot of Teens and Adults who have lived in the spectrums of the Girls house and Craig's family dynamic.
